THE LALELA PROJECT

Cat Rieper, Chief Programme Officer of Lalela Project, will present their innovative afterschool arts education programme that drives positive social change through a curriculum of Ideas Art and Music (IAM).

Working across South Africa, Lalela Project.s mission is to provide educational arts to at risk youth, sparking creative thinking and awakening the entrepreneurial spirit.

Cat will share stories, slides and film on Lalela Project.s creative work and program collaborations with Peter Clarke, Sue Williamson, Robin Rhode and the Essop brothers. You will have an inside view into the work of Lalela Project and the importance of arts education in our current education system. Cat will discuss some of the signature curriculums such as Heart Maps, the Art of the Spoken word and other curriculums developed to allow young artists a path of mapping their dreams and navigating through their own challenges.
